چکیده

Recently, an optimum structure of the discrete time Rake receiver according to the maximum a posteriori criterion has been proposed. The obtained receiver, known as the decorrelating discrete time Rake receiver (DDRR), uses estimates of the channel statistics in order to compute its decision variable. In this letter, we study the DDRR robustness in the presence of dynamic statistics due to birth-death and moving paths. Copyright # 2006 AEIT.

Blind Adaptive Decorrelating RAKE (DRAKE) Downlink Receiver for Space-Time Block Coded Multipath CDMA

A downlink receiver is proposed for space-time block coded CDMA systems operating in multipath channels. By combining the powerful RAKE receiver concept for a frequency selective channel with space-time decoding, it is shown that the performance of mobile receivers operating in the presence of channel fading can be improved significantly. The proposed receiver consists of a bank of decorrelatin...

Performance of the Wavelet Transform-Neural Network Based Receiver for DPIM in Diffuse Indoor Optical Wireless Links in Presence of Artificial Light Interference

Artificial neural network (ANN) has application in communication engineering in diverse areas such as channel equalization, channel modeling, error control code because of its capability of nonlinear processing, adaptability, and parallel processing. On the other hand, wavelet transform (WT) with both the time and the frequency resolution provides the exact representation of signal in both doma...

Design of robust carrier tracking systems in high dynamic and high noise conditions, with emphasis on neuro-fuzzy controller

The robust carrier tracking is defined as the ability of a receiver to determine the phase and frequency of the input carrier signal in unusual conditions such as signal loss, input signal fading, high receiver dynamic, or other destructive effects of propagation. An implementation of tight tracking can be understood in terms of adopting a very narrow loop bandwidth that contradict with the req...

Typical Ka band Satellite Beacon Receiver Design for Propagation Experimentation

This paper presents the design and simulation of a typical Ka band satellite beacon receiver for propagation experimentation. Using satellite beacon signal as a reference signal in satellite wave propagation study, is one of the most important methods. Satellite beacons are frequently available for pointing large antennas, but such signals can be used for measuring the effect of natural phenome...

Characterization of ultra-wide bandwidth wireless indoor channels: a communication-theoretic view

An ultra-wide bandwidth (UWB) signal propagation experiment is performed in a typical modern laboratory/office building. The bandwidth of the signal used in this experiment is in excess of 1 GHz, which results in a differential path delay resolution of less than a nanosecond, without special processing. Based on the experimental results, a characterization of the propagation channel from a comm...
